Privacy Policy

Effective October 29, 2026

Church of King Jesus ("the church", "we") runs this website. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who helps us handle it and how long we keep it. We never sell, rent or trade your information.

What we collect

We collect only what you give us through a form, what a donation needs, and a small amount of technical information that keeps the site safe.

Follow the build and the donations waitlist. Your email address, which list you joined, and when and to what you agreed. If you check "Also send me occasional updates on the build", we record that too.

Gifts of land inquiries. Your name, your email, what brings you to us and your message, and anything else you choose to share: phone number, how you would like us to reach you, your connection to the property, its location, county, state, parcel number, approximate size, property type, anything on its title, your timeline and how you heard about us. We record that you agreed to be contacted about your inquiry, and when. Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank details or financial documents through the form.

Messages to the church. If you send us a message through the contact form, we keep your name, email, subject and message, and a hashed form of your IP address to guard against abuse. If you email us, we receive what you send.

Donations, once they open. Your name, email and mailing address; your phone number and organization if you give them; the amount, fund and frequency you choose; whether you covered the processing fees; whether you asked to give anonymously; any dedication ("in honor of" or "in memory of" a name); and whether you asked for updates. Your card or bank details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor, and never reach our servers. Stripe tells us how you paid, gives us reference numbers for the payment, and for a card payment tells us the card brand and last four digits. Stripe also keeps a customer record for each donor.

Gifts made another way. For a check, cash, wire, donor-advised fund grant or IRA qualified charitable distribution, we record the details needed to acknowledge it: the donor or payer, the amount, the dates, the fund and a reference such as a check number. We never record bank account or routing numbers.

Gifts of property. If the church accepts a gift of land or other property, we keep the records the law asks of us, such as the names and addresses of the property's owners, how title is held, and the dates the gift was received and acknowledged. Tax identification numbers and copies of tax forms are kept in the church's offline files, never on this site.

Technical information. When you send a form, we keep a keyed hash of your IP address with it: a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into your address without a secret key the church holds. We use it only to stop spam and abuse. Our spam check, Cloudflare Turnstile, receives your IP address and information about your browser to tell people from automated programs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include IP addresses.

How we use it

  • To answer you: to reply to an inquiry or message, and to send the confirmation you expect.
  • To process donations, once they open: to take your donation through Stripe, send your receipt, send year-end statements, and send an updated receipt or corrected statement if a donation changes.
  • To keep you informed, only if you asked: updates on the build go only to people who signed up or checked the box. If you joined the donations waitlist, we will email you when online donations open. Every update has a one-click unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, or if your address bounces or reports our email as spam, we stop sending you updates, and we keep your email address and the date so your choice is honored.
  • To keep records the law requires, such as donation records and acknowledgments of gifts of property.
  • To protect the site and the people who use it: to block spam, abuse and fraud.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Who helps us

These companies handle information for us, only to provide their service:

  • Replit, which hosts the website (on Google Cloud).
  • Neon, which hosts our database.
  • Resend, which sends our emails and keeps our list of people who asked for updates.
  • Stripe, which processes donations, including Stripe Link and bank payments. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what you enter on its checkout page.
  • Cloudflare, which runs the Turnstile spam check.
  • GitHub, which stores the website's code and runs its scheduled maintenance.
  • The email provider that hosts our support mailbox, which receives a copy of every inquiry and message sent through the site.

We share information outside the church only with these providers, or when the law requires it: for example, to answer a valid legal request, or to file a return the law requires for certain gifts of property.

Our promise to donors. Your information is never sold or shared with anyone except the service providers who help us, or when the law requires.

We do not publish donor names. If you ask to give anonymously, we will not name you in any public acknowledgment.

Emails

Some emails are part of something you did: a form confirmation, a donation receipt, a year-end statement, a gift of property acknowledgment, or a link to download one of these documents. You will receive those whether or not you signed up for updates. Updates on the build go only to people who asked for them.

We do not track whether you open our emails or click their links.

We keep a copy of each email we send, and Resend keeps its own record of it. Resend tells us whether each email was delivered, bounced or marked as spam, and we keep that with our copy.

Cookies and similar tools

This website sets no cookies for visitors, uses no analytics, and runs no advertising or tracking code.

  • Cloudflare Turnstile runs only when you start filling in one of our forms. It may store information in your browser to tell people from automated programs.
  • Stripe Checkout, where you enter payment details, is a Stripe page with its own cookies, covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Church administrators who sign in to manage the site get cookies that keep them signed in. Visitors never do.

Because we do not track you, there is nothing to opt out of. We treat a browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share your information, which we never do anyway.

How long we keep it

  • Donation records, receipts and year-end statements: at least seven full years after the year of the donation. Our system does not allow them to be deleted sooner.
  • Records of gifts of property the church received or acknowledged: at least seven full years after the latest of those dates.
  • Donation attempts that were never completed: deleted after 30 days, unless we still need one to resolve a payment problem.
  • IP address hashes: deleted after 90 days.
  • Inquiries, messages and our copies of sent emails: kept for now; nothing deletes them automatically.
  • Email list records: kept while you are subscribed; after you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and the date, so your choice is honored.
  • The church's internal activity log, which records what administrators did, is kept permanently. It never holds IP addresses.

Our hosting provider keeps daily backups, and the church keeps its own periodic copies of its records. Information can remain in those copies, in our support mailbox and in Resend's records after we delete it elsewhere.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from updates at any time with the link in any update. To ask what information we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, email support@churchofkingjesus.org. We will respond promptly. We may need to confirm that a request comes from you, and we keep what the law requires us to keep, such as donation records.

Children

This website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email support@churchofkingjesus.org and we will delete it.

Keeping it safe

The site uses an encrypted connection. Only church administrators can see what you send through the site, apart from the copy of each inquiry and message that goes to our support mailbox. Administrators sign in with a single-use link sent to an approved email address. Payment details stay with Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will post the new version here with its date.
